Mentoring is the provision of an experienced businessperson with skills, be they specialist or general, appropriate to the needs of the mentored business/entrepreneur at the time.

Mentors are neither consultants nor executives. They do not carry the burden of responsibility involved in running a business, nor are they paid to do a specific task or job in it. Their role is to share their experience � all mentors are experienced businesspeople � to assist the entrepreneur in coming to their own decisions.
