AssistanceTechnology TransferIntellectual property describes the various rights conferred by patents, trade marks, copyright, etc. Under Irish, UK and EU law, you can protect your “rights” in inventions and so on (but not in ideas alone).
You can then exploit these rights yourself or license or sell them to others — this is called “technology transfer”. Often technology transfer works on an inwards basis, with Irish businesses acquiring rights to use technologies developed elsewhere.
