The Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform implements policy on the admission of persons who wish to visit, immigrate to, or seek refuge in the State in line with the best international practice and standards and in the case of persons wishing to become Irish citizens.
Work permit applications by employers on behalf of non-nationals are handled by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment.
