Excellerator is a select community of Irish entrepreneurs focused on accelerating their business through knowledge exchange and the sharing of ideas, which is designed to speed the development of entrepreneurial companies that have the ability to become international success stories. Ernst & Young is responsible for the design and content of the programme which was built to address specific skills and knowledge gaps identified amongst entrepreneurs by Enterprise Ireland and Shannon Development.

Participants are selected by Enterprise Ireland and Shannon Development in each region. Participants selected are primarily:

• Beyond incubation, are export-focused and preparing to grow quickly
• Profiled in broad terms as 12-18 months or older, turnover of €1million plus, employing 15 staff or more
• In the knowledge and/or manufacturing activities of four key industry sectors: informatics, health and life sciences, digital media and e-business
