A network of Innovation Relay Centres (IRC) has been set up under the European Commission's Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development.

Enterprise Ireland hosts the Innovation Relay Centre for Ireland.

The main role of the IRC is to promote transnational technology transfer. The IRC can help if a company is:

• Looking for new technologies to exploit
• Searching for an innovative solution to a technology need
• Interested in licensing out their own technologies.
