LEADER stands for “Liaisons Entr' Actions de Developpement de l'Economie Rurale” (Links between actions for the development of the rural economy).
LEADER+ is a European Community initiative for assisting rural communities in improving the quality of life and economic prosperity in their local area.
LEADER+ is aimed at encouraging and supporting high quality and ambitious integrated strategies for local rural development, putting a strong emphasis on co-operation and networking between rural areas.
