The Prince's Trust Northern Ireland was set up in 1976 and is now the largest cross-community charity investing in young people.
Through its Business Programme, the Trust offers:
- Low interest loans of up to stg£5,000
- Test marketing grants of up to stg£250
- Bursaries of up to stg£1,500 (stg£3,000 where there are two or more partners)
- Up to three years’ mentor support
- Incubation workspace
- Other support, including: IT training, logo design, discounted web site design, help with a marketing strategy, discounted exhibition space and specialist advice.
Applicants should be:
- Aged 18–30
- Unemployed, under-employed or of limited means
- Able to demonstrate that they are unable to raise all the necessary finance from banks, families or other sources — therefore, the Prince's Trust is a last resort funder
- Have completed an appropriate business training course (LEDU "Business Start" training is sufficient), and have a viable business plan.
