In recent years, UCD, through its University Industry Programme, has established an excellent track record in spinning off campus companies. These include ChangingWorlds, Massana, Neosera Systems, NTERA, Tsunami Photonics and WBT Systems, which together have attracted more than $100m from investors.

NovaUCD is an exciting Innovation and Technology Transfer Centre at University College Dublin. This purpose-built centre offers a supportive environment and incubation facilities to assist innovators and entrepreneurs in taking their ideas from proof-of-principle to full commercial success. It promotes innovation and technology transfer by:
  • Supporting entrepreneurs, campus companies and other knowledge-based ventures
  • Protecting and exploiting intellectual property arising from UCD research
  • Promoting contract research and other forms of university-industry co-operation.
NovaUCD is managed by the University Industry Programme, which has 16 years experience of supporting innovation and technology transfer at UCD.

NovaUCD is supported by a unique public/private partnership, whose founding sponsors are AIB Bank, Arthur Cox, Deloitte, Enterprise Ireland, Ericsson, Goodbody Stockbrokers, UCD and Xilinx. NovaUCD is committed to working with its founding sponsors and other organisations such as European Patent and Community Trade Mark Attorneys, F.R. Kelly & Co., to ensure the successful development of the NovaUCD support programme.

UCD is also a partner in the M50 Enterprise Programme.
