WestBIC’s mission is to “hand-hold” high potential entrepreneurs in the West and North-West region, by offering them business planning, information, marketing advice, and seed funding. It has seven regional offices in Galway, Tuam, Roscommon, Sligo, Foxford in Co Mayo, Kilcar & Letterkenny in Co Donegal. It also has access to the Irish BICs Seed Capital Fund, which provides early stage seed capital to SMEs.
WestBIC manages the Donegal/Tyrone Partnership Rural Enterprise Programme, which provides entrepreneurial skills training, exposure to sites of excellence at home and overseas, group workshops and hands-on business planning assistance to entrepreneurs. The programme is funded by the International Fund for Ireland, with support from Donegal Local Development Company and West Tyrone Rural 2000.
